Evanescence

by raince

The rosy redness of his cheeks

How those dark eyebrows meet

The thin line of those lips

And how the black orbs of those pupils

Intensifies as it stares at my dull eyes

How the blood rises

How my feet disappear from the ground

How I levitate

How I rejoice, thinking

Of the burst of emotions he introduced

But he looked away

The interest fading away from his smile

His eyes turning up blank

His ears closing

His voice lowering in an arid whisper

And then so my feelings numb

The warmth freezing

The beating quieting down

The feeling had gone

It had fallen cold

And dead.
